People often say: "Your anatomy isn't right."
I admit, anatomy IS difficult. But there are so many styles like more chibi or more realistic and so the proportions of the body changes.
I would answer this question with a yes and a no.
Yes, because if the character you draw has 4 fingers, it's wrong. Or the figure can sprain their body unnaturally so that just looking hurts. Then it's really wrong.
You have to understand the basics of anatomy.
But isn't it a matter of the artist's style how realistic the proportions have to be?
I think CLAMP's characters in "Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle" have way too long bodies and limbs or the characters in "Pokemon", they are all without muscles and without body fat.
And not to mention the female chest... From not visible to fat balls.
As you can see there is artistic freedom till a certain limit.
It's up to the artist's taste.
The difference between a mistake and style is: knowing how it actually has to look like.

What do you think about it?

I dont think hyperrealistic proportions are necessary in manga. I think consistency is more important, especially if you’re stylizing something. Otherwise, people will just look upon your β€œstyle” and wonder if it was a mistake. Style comes down to personal preferenfe, but not consistency.
Proportion is not the only part that makes up anatomy. I think that posing does as well. Even if the proportions are correct, people may still tell you to work on your anatomy if your poses are stiff and awkward. Even if the proportions are not realistic, the poses should be natural.
